About The Bristol County Dog Training Club
|
The Bristol County Dog Training Club is a non-profit organization. The club was started in the late 1940's. The founders of the club were Mr. and Mrs. Samuel T. Brightman of Mattapoisett, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Auffery of Acushnet, Mr. and Mrs. Leland S. Rose of Fairhaven, and Mr. and Mrs. Lester Pierce of Fairhaven. The first trainer of the club was Raymond B. Royce of Cohasset. He was also an associate trainer for the South Shore Dog Training Club. Original classes were held on the grounds at the home of Mrs. J. Edward Moore, 178 Adams Street, Fairhaven.
Purpose We offer obedience training at all levels- from beginners to all levels of competition. We have Agility classes to meet the demand. Our trainer has worked with all breeds of dogs for 30+ years so we can help you with behavioral problems, too. Our "Fun Nights" are well attended by our students and their families. We have holiday parties throughout the year for dogs and humans alike. There are fundraising events during the year, also. This is how we are able to maintain our very reasonable rates for classes and club membership. We are not AKC sanctioned. The club officers have discussed this possibility and it is not accepted because we believe there is no good reason to exclude any dog from training and learning to be a better family member. Feel free to contact any of us to get more information about the Bristol County Dog Training Club! |
